Qualifications
Required
Spiritual maturity and faithful participation in the worship life of their congregation
Strong musical ability on vocals, keyboard/piano or guitar
Good organizational and planning skills
Familiarity with particulars of contemporary worship and Lutheran theology
Experienced in directing ensembles and/or conducting choirs in the spirit of excellence and unity
Preferred
Undergraduate degree in music
Familiarity with or willingness to learn software (Planning Center, Pro Presenter, Canva)
Responsibilities & Duties
Select appropriate music for worship services taking into account skill of worship ensemble and scriptural/sermon themes
Provide music for most Sunday and midweek (seasonal) services
Be in communication with pastor and church secretary
Attend bi-weekly staff meeting
Schedule and oversee worship teams and tech team
Determine key/arrangements of songs and distribute copies to worship teams
Rehearse with worship/tech teams on a weekly basis
Proofread weekly slides
Lead worship team in prayer before each service
Purchase new music as necessary
Maintain music catalog and files (song bank)
Direct seasonal choir (Christmas/Easter)
Offer worship input to Pastor for special services
Play for weddings and funerals, if available
Be professional in appearance and performance
