Position Title: Children & Family Ministry Leader
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Status: Salaried: Full-Time (Flexible Hours)
Location: Brookfield Lutheran Church—18500 W. Burleigh Rd., Brookfield, WI 53045
Position Summary:
The Children and Family Ministry Leader has a passion and vision for growing existing and building new ministries targeted to help children (birth-grade 5) and their families know, love, and follow Jesus. This role leads, coordinates, encourages, and supports volunteers to work together on key programming that will build strong connections and relationships with both kids and their parents.
Working closely with the Youth & Family Ministry Leader, this role also supports young families, both children and parents, find their place within the church to actively connect themselves and others to life in Jesus.
Key Responsibilities:
Children’s Programming
Grow and build VBS, Sunday school, and Children’s Involvement in Worship.
Family Engagement
Organize seasonal events and facilitate family-oriented activities.
Support for Parents
Offer spiritual, practical, and relevant resources for parents (Birth-grade 5). Coordinate and facilitate supportive ministries such as Baptismal Connections, First Steps, Moms’ Connection, Family Service Projects, and Young Parent Bible Studies.
Collaboration
Work with the Youth & Family Ministry Leader to align and support ministry strategies.
Work with Care Ministry Pastor to identify and meet needs/cares of young parents/families.
Support Upward sports ministry to engage with children and families in the church and community.
Qualifications:
Active, growing faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with the beliefs, values, actions, and mission of Brookfield Lutheran Church.
Experience working with children and families in ministry or education.
Visionary, energetic, creative, and organized with a heart for relational ministry.
Strong communicator and team player.
Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends when necessary.
