Teacher
As a 10 Month, full-time Called or contracted worker of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School (ILCS) this person should desire to use their gifts and talents to share His Love with everyone they come into contact with. It should be his/her desire to see that his/her ministry glorifies the name of Jesus Christ through word and action.

Ministry in Life and Conduct
Be faithful in his/her use of Word and Sacrament.
Have their house in order as a means of witnessing to Christ’s Lordship in their own personal affairs.
Be a good steward of time, talents, and treasures as a staff member.

Ministry as a ILCS Staff member
Attend staff functions and meetings
Be a cooperative team player with the entire staff of Immanuel

Accountability
Report directly to the school administrators.
Maintain a Christian professional relationship and confidentiality with assistants, colleagues, parents, and students.
Be familiar with and follow the policies outlined in the ILCS Employee Manual, ILCS Policy Manual, Faculty Handbook, and Parent Handbook.

Duties & Responsibilities
Classroom and teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Maintain a Christian, professional relationship with colleagues, parents, and students.
Integrate Faith and Learning: Plan and deliver instruction that integrates Christian principles and Lutheran teachings across the curriculum, fostering a Christ-centered learning environment.
Support the Spiritual Growth of Students: Actively participate in and lead devotions, prayer, chapel services, and other spiritual activities that encourage students’ faith development in alignment with Lutheran beliefs.
Uphold and Model Christian Values: Serve as a Christian role model, demonstrating a personal commitment to the teachings of Jesus and the values of ILCS in conduct, communication, and relationships.
Deliver High-Quality Instruction: Design engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and use data-driven instruction to meet diverse learning needs while maintaining academic excellence.
Foster a Caring, Respectful Classroom Environment: Create a positive classroom culture that reflects ILCS values of grace, forgiveness, and mutual respect, encouraging character development and community.
Engage with School Community and Families: Collaborate with colleagues, communicate regularly with parents/guardians, and actively participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development within the context of the ILCS mission and values.
Collaborate with teaching partner and grade level: Working closely with their teaching partner to meet shared educational goals.
Maintaining accurate records: Keeping detailed records of student attendance, grades, and classroom activities.
Take continuing education courses and keep their teaching certificate current.
Fulfill assigned responsibilities including grade level assignments, staff assignments, “Teacher Extra” responsibilities, Curriculum Teams, and other afterschool assignments.

Qualifications:
Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and core values of Immanuel Lutheran Church & School, and be willing to support and uphold the faith-based ethos of the school in both professional practice and personal conduct. A genuine alignment with the spiritual and moral framework of the church and school is essential.
A Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) and a current state teacher certification.
Training in the LCMS Lutheran faith is preferred.
