Early Childhood Director

Overview

Faith Lutheran School is seeking a Christ-centered, experienced Early Childhood Director to lead and oversee our early childhood programs in partnership with Faith Lutheran Church.

POSITION PURPOSE

To serve Jesus Christ through the mission of Faith Lutheran Church by providing leadership, administration, and oversight of the Early Childhood programs at Faith Lutheran School.

ACCOUNTABILITY

This position reports to and works in collaboration with the School Advisory and Lay Leadership boards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mission & Leadership

·         Carry out and advance the mission and purpose of Faith Lutheran Church and School

·         Work collaboratively with the Pastor and School Advisory Board

·         Represent the school in church leadership meetings, conferences, and community events

·         Foster a Christ-centered environment for children, families, and staff

Staff Leadership & Development

·         Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate teaching and support staff

·         Prepare job descriptions, maintain personnel records and conduct staff performance reviews

·         Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development

·         Support curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom effectiveness

Financial Oversight

·         Prepare and manage the annual school budget

·         Operate within approved budget guidelines and financial metrics

·         Oversee collection of tuition, fees, and student financial records

·         Procure equipment and supplies responsibly

Family & Community Relations

·         Maintain strong communication with parents and families

·         Promote enrollment through marketing, outreach, and community engagement

·         Coordinate tours, open houses, and orientation for new families

Administration, Compliance and Safety

·         Serve as the school’s legal and administrative representative with state, county, district, and synod authorities

·         Maintain all licensing, accreditation, and partnering agency requirements

·         Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations

·         Prepare and submit required quarterly and annual reports

·         Act as the school’s Health and Safety Officer

·         Coordinate facility maintenance and grounds upkeep

·         Ensure classrooms and playgrounds meet safety and health standards

·         Maintain health, immunization, and safety records for students and staff

QUALIFICATIONS

·         A committed Christian who acknowledges Jesus Christ as Savior

·         Active member of a Christian congregation (membership in Faith Lutheran Church preferred)

·         Strong organizational and management skills

·         Experience in marketing early childhood education programs or equivalent.

·         Bachelor’s degree in education required (Master’s degree preferred)

·         Meets all State of Florida and Palm Beach County childcare licensing standards

·         Minimum 2 years of experience as a director or equivalent leadership experience

·         Membership in Lutheran Education Association (or willingness to maintain membership)

·         Proficient in ProCare, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint

·         Ability to pass background checks and fingerprinting requirements
