Overview

Position: Preschool–8th Grade Principal
School: St. Paul Lutheran, West Point, Nebraska

St. Paul is seeking a Christ-centered, entrepreneurial Principal to lead our Preschool–8th Grade Lutheran school. This full-time role is uniquely designed as half administrative leadership and half student-facing, including teaching or classroom support as needed.

We are looking for a visionary leader who sees small class sizes as an opportunity for innovation, exploration, and deeply personalized learning. The ideal candidate brings energy, creativity, and a passion for building an electric, child-focused atmosphere rooted in Lutheran identity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide spiritual, instructional, and operational leadership aligned with Lutheran doctrine
• Oversee daily operations, staff support, communication, and school culture
• Teach or assist in classrooms regularly to support student learning
• Build strong relationships with students, families, and congregation
• Lead enrollment growth and community engagement with an entrepreneurial mindset

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or higher preferred
• Nebraska Administrative Certification (or ability to obtain within 3 years)
• Active member of a Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS) congregation; rostered LCMS worker preferred
• Experience in teaching and school leadership
• Strong communication, organizational, and relational skills
• An LTD (Lutheran Teachers Diploma) is preferred; willingness to take CUENET: Lutheran Teacher training of 8 courses will be accepted.
