About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated, flexible, and faith-driven assistant teacher to guide and inspire students in a Christ-centered classroom. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, loves Jesus, and is committed to making a difference in young lives.
What You’ll Do:

✅ Faith & Ministry

Talk about Jesus daily and pray with students.
Lead staff devotions occasionally.
Actively attend your home church and be willing to attend Woodlands occasionally for ELC-related events (accreditation requirement).
✅ Classroom Leadership

Be well-prepared, on time, and ready for students each morning.
Maintain active supervision and always know student count.
Create a warm and welcoming environment by greeting students and parents each morning.
Embrace the mess! Be willing to let children explore, create, and learn through hands-on experiences—even if it gets a little messy.
✅ Flexibility, Commitment & Attendance

Must have consistent attendance and show commitment to the students in your classroom by staying from August-May.
Be willing to go with the flow—teaching young children requires patience and flexibility.
Adjust plans as needed to meet the dynamic needs of the classroom.
Maintain a positive, can-do attitude even when the unexpected happens.
Attend monthly staff meetings, all family events, and any additional special programs or events as necessary.
✅ Communication & Collaboration

Have effective, appropriate, and regular communication with staff, parents, and students.
Uphold and adhere to all policies in the Employee Manual and Parent Handbook.
Complete all incident & behavior reports and communicate them the same day.
✅ Commitment & Professionalism

Participate in the school accreditation process.
Attend all required staff meetings, school functions, and events (including when children sing in church).
Maintain professionalism in all interactions—both in person and via email.
Complete 15 hours of continuing education each year.
Keep staff files and all required documents up to date.
✅ Classroom Care & Organization

Regularly clean and maintain the classroom.
Assist the lead teacher with day to day activities and projects.
Qualifications:

Must have DCF 45 Hours complete, or be willing to obtain within the first 90 days of employment.

a Florida Staff Credential with a minimum of: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood, FCCP, or a CDA is preffered.
First Aid/CPR certification.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have the physical capabilities to:
Bend, squat, and get on and off the floor with ease.
Stand for extended periods.
Lift up to 45 pounds as needed.
