Overview
ISJ Academy is looking for educators who are passionate about teaching and positively contributing to the lives of children grades K-6th in educational support and social emotional learning. This position will support teachers with academic adaptations, self-care, social/behavioral needs and spiritual development.
Part-Time: 20-25 Hours a week
Key Duties:
Works with students and teaches Social Emotional Learning skills.
Assisting teachers in the classroom as needed.
Aid students in meeting their individualized education plan (IEP)
Completes weekly documentation of student with IEP.
Works with individuals and/or small groups when activities and assignments are presented by teachers.
Provides support for students in crisis.
Supports students in 1:1 capacity as needed.
Maintaining a safe learning environment.
Assists the classroom teacher with assessing learner needs, progress and achievement.
Assists the classroom teacher in maintaining individual student records, when asked.
Utilize a variety of learning methods to enhance the students’ learning experiences and support them as needed.
Works alongside staff and students by using a Christ-centered, positive, consistent approach.
Works cooperatively with parents/guardians.
Assumes other responsibilities assigned by the classroom teacher or school leader.
Minimum Requirements:
Associates Degree or ParaPro Assessment
Ability to communicate with students, staff, and guardians in a professional manner.
Excellent verbal and written expression using proper grammar and vocabulary.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Requirements:
ParaPro Certification or similar
Past work experience in a school with children with special needs
Ability to obtain PCA certification from the Department of Human Services
Additional Requirements:
Additional requirements include US Work Authorization.
Approved background/fingerprint check
First Aid Certification (Preferred)
CPR Certification (Preferred)
A willingness to sign the ISJ Academy employee covenant.
Pay/Benefits
$15-$16/hr
Can be paired with administrative and/or teaching duties for more hours.
Limited Flexible Schedule- hours must be consistent each week, but can be worked in anytime M-F from 8:10am-3:10pm
