Position Summary:The Dean of the College of Business & Technology will be an innovator, entrepreneur, and relationship-builder who provides effective leadership and vision that advances the values, mission, vision and strategic plan for the College of Business & Technology and the University.  The Dean will be outward-facing by playing a key role in cultivating relationships with outside organizations and College of Business & Technology alumni, and also inward-facing as a strong leader and representative for the College Faculty and Program Directors.  As a leader, the Dean will be responsible for recommending appointments, promotion, and contract status of Faculty while also encouraging and advocating for excellence in teaching and research. This is a full-time position with full-time benefits package.  Must be at least 19 years of age to apply.

The Dean oversees the quality, budget, enrollment, and retention for programs in the College of Business & Technology, including the Paul H. & Mary Ann Koehler Department of Business; Department of Computer Science and Mathematics; and Master of Business Administration Program (In-Person and Online);.  In addition to the above-mentioned Departments and Programs, the Dean is also responsible for overseeing the direction of five new enrollment growth and differentiating initiatives:  1) Institute for Ethical Leadership; 2) Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship; 3) Collegiate Leadership Competition Team; 4) Programming Team; and 5) Bulldog Innovators.

General Duties:
Internal College of Business & Technology:
Promotes the mission, vision and values of the College of Business & Technology and the University through the activities and programs of the college.
Responsible for the governance of the Paul & Mary Ann Koehler endowment which provides annual funding for the Institute for Ethical Leadership and the Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.  The endowment includes funding for recruitment, scholarships, professional development, and community engagement.
Lead for the growth of the entrepreneurship initiative including the Concordia Catalyst Competition (C3) and the Annual Business Plan competition engaging alumni and Concordia’s community partners.
Oversees curriculum, teaching, advising and assessment in the College of Business & Technology academic programs by encouraging creativity, innovation and scholarship.
Leads and manages progress of the College of Business & Technology Strategic Plan.
Serves as a Direct Supervisor for Department Chairs, Program Directors, and Institute Directors in the College of Business & Technology.
Provides operational responsibility for budgets within the college.
Engages in program review, program development, and ensuring alignment with university and program accreditation.
Teaches courses as approved by the Provost.
External:
Cultivates and maintains relationships with local, regional and national organizations for the purposes of building pipelines for internships and full-time positions for students in addition to sponsorships of initiatives and named endowments.
Collaborates with the Advancement Office to identify College of Business & Technology program alumni and friends of Concordia with aspirations of involvement in College of Business & Technology initiatives and eventually as donors.

Qualifications:
Earned doctorate from an accredited institution.
Established record of excellent university teaching, scholarship and distinguished university, professional and community/public service.
Academic leadership and management experience within an institution of higher learning.
Knowledge of higher education practices and trends.
Knowledge of program and curriculum development, management, and leadership in both the online and on-ground modalities
Successful application of innovative teaching methods and technology use in both modalities.
Experience in the application of information management systems.
Member of a congregation of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, preferred.
Understanding of and commitment to the mission of Concordia University, Nebraska.
Proven record of integrity with a passion for academic excellence, effective teaching and educational innovation.
Superior written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Collaborative and entrepreneurial leadership style that emphasizes openness, consultation and transparent decision making.
Ability to effectively represent the College of Business & Technology while working in collaboration with internal and external constituents.
Sensitivity to and knowledge of adult education and graduate and undergraduate programs in online, traditional and other delivery modalities.
In depth knowledge of how technology is used to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.
Familiarity with national, regional, and professional accreditation processes.
