Overview
Concordia Lutheran Schools of Omaha seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher in
one of our Ignite classrooms, which are intentionally muti-grade. We are seeking a
passionate and dedicated teacher who loves Jesus and believes in student-centered
learning. The ideal candidate will oversee a structured yet flexible learning
environment that encourages students to take
age-appropriate ownership of their education while developing strong character and
faith.
Position Responsibilities
1. Facilitate a blended learning environment that includes guided instruction,
personalized work, and project-based learning.
2. Utilize interactive and varied teaching strategies to accommodate different
learning styles and create an inclusive classroom environment.
3. Partner with parents to ensure student success through consistent
communication.
4. Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff and administration to enhance
curriculum, share best practices, and support student development.
5. Maintain a positive, respectful classroom culture that reflects the values and
mission of Concordia Lutheran Schools
Skills Necessary
1. Faith mentorship: Help students see their education and future careers as
opportunities to serve God. Encourage them to live out their faith boldly
in all aspects of life.
2. Classroom Management: Ability to maintain an orderly and positive
classroom environment, especially when working with young students, to
encourage active participation and respectful behavior.
3. Lesson Planning and Organization: Skill in developing structured and
engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and

accommodate different learning paces and styles.
4. Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with students,
parents, and colleagues, both in written and verbal forms, to provide
updates, feedback, and support as needed.
5. Adaptability and Flexibility: Capability to adjust teaching strategies and
lesson plans to meet diverse student needs and varying class dynamics.
6. Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with educational technology and tools
to enhance instruction, such as language learning apps, online resources,
or multimedia presentations, helping make lessons interactive and
engaging.
7. Student Engagement Techniques: Knowledge of strategies to make
learning interactive, relevant, and enjoyable, fostering a love of learning.
8. Assessment and Feedback: Ability to assess student understanding
through formative and summative assessments that are appropriate for
young learners.
9. Professionalism and Dependability: Commitment to Concordia’s mission
and values, reliability in attendance and preparation, and a professional
demeanor that reflects positively on the school community.
Professional Expectations and Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, elementary or early childhood education
preferred.
2. Strong communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and
mentoring early childhood students.
3. Commitment to fostering a supportive, faith-based learning environment in
line with Concordia Lutheran Schools’ values.
4. Valid Nebraska Teaching certification or ability to become certified.
