Position Summary

Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited college or university

Applicants must possess a current teaching license or the ability to acquire a Nevada teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education and certified in relevant subject areas.

The MS Math Teacher will specifically teach Pre-Algebra, implementing into daily instruction appropriate curriculum based on the Nevada State Standards and the course syllabi. In addition, the MS Math Teacher will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning while fostering a positive Christian environment that supports the school’s mission of Everyone prepared!  Everyone saved!

Essential Functions 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Possesses exemplary decision making and problem solving skills
  • Proficient with Google products; specifically but not limited to: Docs, Forms, Sheets, Slides, etc.  as well as  the ability to learn and use Crusader Connect (school Admin software and learning management system)
  • Will incorporate, understand, and utilize technology
  • Effectively and appropriately collaborate with faculty, staff members, and the Administrative Team
  • Model professionalism through attire, punctual attendance, behavior, and safety
  • Model a Gospel-centered approach in day-to-day relationships with students, faculty,  staff members, and parents
  • Work in a supportive and coordinating manner with all departments
  • Be present for the duration of the typical work day (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) unless an adjustment is arranged in partnership with the Middle School Principal
  • Will fulfill related duties, as assigned, including being present at some Extracurricular Activities and School Events outside of school hours

Positional Responsibilities

  • Prepare each day for instruction of students by setting up necessary computers, projectors, etc.
  • Make copies for the day’s lesson plans.
  • Attend scheduled school meetings before and after school.
  • Supervise students outside the classroom at assigned stations before/after school and lunch.
  • Attend weekly chapels, assemblies or presentations with students.
  • Assignments must be graded each week and entered on the school’s academic program via computer.
  • Make parent phone calls when necessary and return calls within 24 hours.
  • Lead students during monthly fire drills, shelter-in-place drills and shooter on campus drills.
  • Other duties as assigned and in collaboration with the Middle School Principal
