Position Overview:
Hope Lutheran School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Kindergarten Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, Christ-centered classroom environment that fosters both academic excellence and spiritual growth. This full-time position requires a teacher who is enthusiastic about working with young learners and committed to integrating faith into daily instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

Faith Integration: Incorporate Lutheran Christian values and teachings into the curriculum, fostering students’ spiritual development alongside academic learning.
Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects, including literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and religion, aligned with state standards and the school’s mission.
Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, orderly, and safe classroom environment that encourages mutual respect and promotes learning.
Differentiation: Address the diverse needs of students by employing various instructional strategies, differentiated teaching methods, and individualized learning plans.
Assessment: Regularly assess student progress through formal and informal methods, providing feedback and adjusting instruction as necessary.
Parent Communication: Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and involvement in school events.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with educational trends.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and administration to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students.

Qualifications:

A practicing, professing Christian actively involved in their Christian congregation, preferably with a Lutheran background.
A Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education.
A valid teaching license or the ability to obtain one in the state of Kansas.
Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to fostering a love of learning and faith in young children.

About HOPE LUTHERAN SCHOOL

We have been offering quality Christ-centered education since 1983. Our student body is over 190 students in preschool through 8th grade.  The students at Hope have the opportunity to hear the grace, love, and forgiveness of our Lord Jesus Christ from quality, caring Christian teachers.

Hope Lutheran School has 24 faculty and staff who are committed to providing a quality Christian education with an emphasis on a Christ-centered environment. In addition to the regular curricular areas, our students also benefit from instruction in STEM, Art, Spanish, Technology, Physical Education, Athletics, and Music – band, music instruction, and choir. We also provide opportunities with sports in cross country, soccer, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and track.
