Prince of Peace Lutheran Preschool is hiring! In sunny Orlando, Florida, we are part of a vibrant and dynamic Lutheran church family.  Our primary focus is providing excellent childcare and education in a Christian setting to children ages birth – 5 and their families.

Required Qualifications

Must be 21 years or older

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent

Must have CDA or recognized Florida equivalent

Must be certified in Pediatric First Aid and CPR

Must have excellent communication and strong customer service skills

Must demonstrate effective leadership and classroom management skills

Must be familiar with and agree to the school’s stated Mission and Philosophy Statements

Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not required

Work Environment

Must be able to adapt to a continuously changing, fast-paced environment, and make the children’s needs the primary focus.

Must be able to fully engage in physical activity including lifting up to 50lbs.

Must be able to kneel, squat, stoop, crawl, lift, push, and pull.

Must be able to engage in activities including but limited to jumping, dancing, running, walking, hopping, and skipping.

Job Type: You must be flexible with your age group assignment. Age groups are infants through Pre-K, with the occasional elementary after-schooler. Hours may vary depending on the position and needs of the program, but for this position the expected shift will typically be 12:30PM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Shifts assignments are subject to change based on operational needs.

Responsibilities
– Manage the preschool classroom effectively, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
– Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs and interests of young children and are developmentally appropriate.
– Utilize effective communication skills to interact with students, parents, and staff members.
– Provide individualized attention to students to support their learning and development.
– Incorporate child development principles into daily activities and interactions.
– Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience for students.
– Utilize classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and social skills.
– Stay updated on best practices in early childhood education and implement them in the classroom.
– Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to meet individual needs.
– Foster a love for learning and exploration in young children through creative and stimulating activities.
