St. Philip Lutheran School (2500 W Bryn Mawr Ave, Chicago) is a private PreK – 8th day school bordering the Arcadia Terrace/West Ridge neighborhood – a lovely residential area on the far north side of Chicago.

We seek a Lead Teacher for the upcoming Academic Year (to begin August 2024). You will work in a team with a part-time teacher, to cover the core subjects, as well as electives. There is some flexibility in teaching assignment.
Main Responsibilities:
– Nurture the JOY of learning — joy of reading, joy of math, joy of discovery — every day!
– Plan and execute lessons well; administer appropriate assessments and grade accordingly; communicate grades accordingly
-Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
– Manage student behavior and ensure a safe learning environment
– Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure continuity of instruction
– Strong knowledge of child development and educational principles
– Some experience working with elementary-aged children desired (student teaching acceptable!)
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Patience, flexibility, and adaptability in a small classroom setting
– Familiarity with differentiated teaching strategies is a plus

Salary Range – $40K – $43K/annual plus med and retirement benefits
