Overview

The WLCkids Minister will oversee leadership of programming for Kids Ministries at the Oak Hill Campus helping to fulfill Woodbury Lutheran Church’s Mission: “to follow Jesus Christ, worshiping and growing as His disciples, serving and telling others, so that all may know Him as Savior and Lord.”

The Oak Hill WLCkids Minister will be responsible for the following:
1. Cultural Requirements/Expectations: Live out Biblical principles and uphold the core values of WLC. Examples include:
● Commitment to follow Jesus
● Participate in worship and a WLC small group regularly
● Volunteer within and outside the church
● Generously support WLC ministries with time, talent, and resources
● Set appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity

2. The Oak Hill WLCkids Minister will have the following Job Responsibilities:
● Lead and manage and hold Accountable volunteer ministry leaders
● Oversee and guide Kids Ministry offerings: Communicating, organizing, leading leaders, and at times teaching and editing materials
● Promote, teach, and develop ministry opportunities within the WLC way at the Oak Hill Campus
● Family Support and Care
● Oak Hill Campus support and leadership; seen as a professional, helpful leader invested in campus success
● All Other Duties as Directed

3. The Oak Hill WLCkids Minister will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
● Disciple of Jesus who is passionate about discipling others
● Strong leadership and excitement to lead leaders–helping to “make things happen”
● Adaptability: able to succeed in a dynamic, team environment
● Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
● IT skills (MS 365, Google Suite, PCO database, etc.)
● Problem solving skills, find a way to “yes”
● Initiative to blaze new paths in support of WLC vision
● Reliability and discretion: you will often learn of confidential matters
● A fun and humble countenance

4. Personal Growth and Development: The Oak Hill WLCkids Minister will continue to grow personally and professionally by:
● Attain and Maintain Spiritual, Relational, Emotional, and Physical Health
● Set and measure goals for personal growth and job performance on quarterly basis
● Obtain job-specific training/certification as required

5. Required Qualifications:
● AA degree, Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related field (Ministry, Education, Leadership)
● 1-3 years of work experience in a professional setting desired
● Ability to lift 25lbs

6. Work Schedule:
● 10-12 hours per week (Sunday AM required. Other meetings and events as needed) flexible schedule
