SUMMARY
The Elementary Vice Principal assists the Elementary School Principal in providing the overall leadership and management of the educational program for the Elementary School.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
It is expected that the Elementary Vice Principal will demonstrate the following skills, knowledge, and qualities:

Superior conflict resolution and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
A strong background in classroom supervision, instruction, and curriculum;
Flexibility to work in a variety of settings.

The following description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this position. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Together with the Elementary Principal, providing leadership and management of students, faculty and staff within the Elementary School so that a positive environment is maintained that models the values and mission of the school;
Ensuring rigorous international academic standards are set and achieved by each student with an emphasis on a developmentally appropriate curriculum;
Supervision of teachers and other direct reports, as defined by the Elementary School Principal, and professional development carried out informally and formally through regular visits to classrooms;
Assist the Elementary School Principal in organizing and running school events and activities that enhance the curriculum
Assist the Leadership team in shepherding the WASC self-study process, preparing accreditation reports, and coordinating accreditation visits.
Other responsibilities assigned by the Elementary School Principal.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS
It is expected that candidates for this position will be highly qualified educators.

Characteristics of the ideal person for this position would include:
An outstanding educator with a focus on student learning.
A Master’s Degree (or pursuing one) in Education, Education Administration, or Curriculum and Instruction.
A minimum of seven years of teaching experience.
Experience in a school leadership role. (Committee head, grade level head, etc.)
Experience with the WASC accreditation process.
Experience with second language learners.
Experience working with learning support teams.
Experience in developing and implementing professional development.
Highly organized with excellent writing, technical, and communication skills.
An ability to work independently and to be an effective leader and manager of a team.

About Concordia International School Hanoi

Concordia International School Hanoi is a private, non-profit, co-educational, international day school with English instruction. Fluency in English is required for entry. EAL support is available. Concordia is governed by a Board of Trustees, comprised of corporate executives who support and promote Concordia’s development and growth. Concordia was founded in 2011 as a Preschool to Grade 7 institution and has annually added the next higher grade level. The first high school graduation took place June 2017.
