This position is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position with benefits if desired. The candidate to be contracted will be required to join as a member of the congregation of Salem Lutheran Ministries and complete the Colloquy process within two years of the hire date.

Purpose: The purpose of this position is to serve the congregation by providing administrative leadership and supervision to Salem Lutheran Preschool and Early Childhood Program, with particular attention given to public relations and the day-to-day operations of the school.

Qualifications: Accepts and supports the Old and New Testaments as the inspired word of God and is willing to uphold the confessional teaching of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, particularly those presented in Luther’s Small Catechism. Preference to have a bachelor’s degree in an early childhood field and two years experience in education. Has distinct administrative and leadership abilities. Is passionate about people and the ministry of Salem Lutheran. Appreciates and values team ministry. Maintains and models healthy boundaries in family and work.

Responsibilities: Serve as Director of Salems’s Preschool and Early Childhood Program, providing daily administration, staff leadership, legal supervision (safety and licensing), financial management, and curriculum development. Communicate effectively with parents and the greater community to promote Salem Preschool and Early Childhood Program, as well as to support the congregational mission enthusiastically. Serve the congregation as an example of Christian conduct; endeavor earnestly to live in Christian unity with congregation members and coworkers; and do everything possible to bridge the ministries of our church and school.
