About St. John Lutheran School

St. John Lutheran School nurtures souls, minds, and bodies in Christ. We serve 3-year-olds through 8th graders in a close-knit community. Our dedicated teachers share Jesus with children and help them grow in their faith while also teaching the academic subjects and providing various extracurricular opportunities. Our staff sees their work as more than a job and prioritizes connecting with kids and serving them. Our students and families value to smaller class sizes, the connections between students of all ages, and the opportunities to be involved.

Kendallville is a small town (population 10,000) nestled in the midst of farmland, lakes, and natural beauty. Our community is supportive of St. John and the many other community organizations. Kendallville highlights include a wonderful library, well-equipped YMCA, bustling Community Learning Center, and a beautiful park and lake. St. John Lutheran Church is a strong supporter of the school, offers both traditional and contemporary worship, has active children and youth ministries, and is supported by a pastor and a DCE who are both very involved in the school.

St. John is also uniquely blessed to have the support of The Lutheran Schools Partnership. This organization serves the Lutheran schools (18 elementary, 2 high schools, and 34 Early Childhood Centers) in the greater Ft. Wayne area. There is nothing in the country quite like TLSP! This organization provides support, professional development, and networking opportunities for the schools, teachers, and administrators of these schools. It is a treasure!
